The Lake Cumberland Wildlife Refuge depends on both generous donors and daily volunteer help. We are very thankful for the local community for enabling us to make a difference in Kentucky's wildlife.
Your financial support and contributions enable us to care for both our rehabilitation and education animals, create a safe and clean campus where animals and visitors alike can thrive, and drive our mission forward! Thank you for your help!

As a small non-profit organization, the Lake Cumberland Wildlife Refuge relies on the daily assistance of hardworking individuals, including students in 7th - 12th grade. Daily volunteer tasks may include cleaning facilities, feeding wildlife, assisting in medical care, and training animals in our educational Animal Ambassador program.
We offer internship roles with immersive experiences and leadership roles. Our 12-week program covers a wide spectrum of assignments, such as daily cleaning, feeding, and training of our raptors, and helping with our educational initatives.
People love our educational wildlife presentations, which showcase the variety of animals that enter our daily care. Our raptor presentations are an important source of funding and help us teach local communities about the animals in their backyards.
Caring for each of our animal’s needs while maintaining our facilities means relying on community support. Sometimes our donations include cleaning or animal care essentials. See our item wishlist or contact us to learn more about our ongoing needs.
